Bio
I graduated from St Mary’s High School. I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Detroit, and a master’s degree from Wayne State.
My late husband Jack and I were married at St Mary’s Church. We raised our five children here. We have eight grandchildren; one is a senior at Anchor Bay High School.
I retired after 36 years as a teacher. My husband and I owned the New Baltimore Florist; we were honored “the Business of the Year”. We were the oldest family-owned business in New Baltimore when we sold it.
I belong to St Mary’s Church. I volunteer in the following community organizations in New Baltimore: the Police Officers Association, Life Member of the Lions Club, Committee member of Bay-Rama, Life Member of the Historical Society, member of the Civic Club, Vice-president of the Goodfellows, Relay for Life Event Leadership Team, and a Relay for Life team Captain. I am Chairperson of New Baltimore’s Make A Difference Day – a community health fair.
In the past I was a Girl Scout leader, catechism teacher, Captain of the Lions Juvenile Diabetes Team, and vice-president of Anchor Bay Little League.

Five different mayors have appointed me as Delegate to Southeastern Michigan Council of Government; it is made up of delegates from seven counties. I was elected by my fellow delegates to SEMCOG’s Transportation Advisory Committee, and SEMCOG’s Regional Clearinghouse Review Committee; the Regional Review Committee votes on which municipalities receive the block grants from the federal government. One of the grants I was able to vote on was the approval of the County Line bike path.
Before being elected, I served on the New Baltimore Planning Commission. After my election, I continued to serve as liaison to the Planning Commission – a job I take very seriously; in addition to planning meetings, I also attend monthly pre-planning meetings and Site-plan review meetings. I am the liaison to the New Baltimore Police Department, and the Downtown Development Authority. I am a voting member of the Local Development Finance Authority.
I have served as liaison to the fire department, Citizens Advisory Committee. I served as a member of the water, the wastewater, the roads, and bridges committees – the 3 committees evolved into the utilities committee.

I am concerned about public safety, including both our fire department and our police department. I am excited about the plans for the development at the corner of Main and Washington. I am concerned about the condition of roads and bridges in our city and maintaining our quality of life.
I love our community and that is why I am running for re-election to City Council.
